Introduction
The world population is expected to be over 9.8 billion by 2050, while the number of automobiles will increase to 3 billion. With the increase in population, improved living standards, and increased demand for automobiles, the world is expected to face significant problems concerning climate change, resource shortages, and biodiversity loss.

This side event addresses sustainable rubber economy that is "profitable, socially just, and environmentally sound" as the shared goal among all stakeholders. Hence, a neutral platform is paramount for the adoption and implementation of the principles of the circular economy toward a paradigm shift from "cradle-to-grave" to "cradle-to-cradle," which guarantees a superior performance and more sustainable mobility.
